With breathtaking views to the blue North Sea, the majestic lighthouse of Rubjerg Knude on the sandy dunes and the red tile roofs of Lønstrup, Hawbakken is the perfect place to enjoy the scenic panorama of the landscape. The main house was built in 1892, and though many things have changed since then, it still has the most iconic view in the region.

Stay in one of our three newly renovated holiday apartments on the old ranch – and feel how the fresh ocean wind and the green surroundings can lower your pulse and energize you. All within walking distance from the cozy main street of Lønstrup and the beach at the foot of the hill.

Or stop by for a fun day with the family in our ”Sport & Spas” (spas are cozy). Hawbakken has activities for both kids and their parents—and enough of them to enjoy many hours of quality time without spending the whole holiday budget. You can bring your own lunch and eat it while enjoying the wonderful views.

Kitchen

All our holiday homes are equipped so you can decide for yourself which meals are enjoyed in one of Lønstrups quality restaurants and which are served around the hand made wooden dining table in the privacy of your own apartment.

The kitchen has an oven, stove, dish washer, fridge with freezer, coffee options and naturally nice plates and glasses. So if you want to invite friends over: you are all set.

Tasteful decor

The whole ranch and the holiday homes were refurbished and renewed in 2022 and 2023, so the furniture and decorations are new and hand picked. We have chosen comfortable beds with memory foam topping to ensure you sleep well – and we have installed new sofas and armchairs in classic Scandinavian design with a dash of farm life. Calm and light colours round the experience of to make the apartments comfortable for both the eye and the body.

In-house entertainment

For a rainy day there is a flatscreen tv and an Apple tv in every living room – so you can bring your own tv channels or streaming services with you on vacation.

In addition to this we have selected a range of quality dvd-movies for your viewing pleasure and a stack of books in different languages for you to relax with. We also supply a couple of old fashioned games for a nice analog evening of family fun.

Wifi

Despite the fact that Hawbakken is hidden from the main road and seem isolated from the outside world on the top of the hill, we have installed the most modern and fastest internet money can buy.

Our guests surf at high-speed for free.

Free ”Sport & Spas”

Hawbakken is more than holiday homes. The surrounding area hosts a range of activities; both outdoors and in the old barn building. We call the area ”Sport & Spas” (“Spas” is the cozy kind of fun) – and while staying with us you and your family can use the activities for free every day of the week at 10:00-21:00.

It’s important to have good people around you – and in that regard we are very fortunate at Hawbakken. Within easy walking distance our four nearest neighbours each have something unique on offer that can be turned into a wild culinary experience.

Holiday Homes

Hawbakken's holiday homes differ in size so both small and large families or groups of friends can find the perfect place to stay. We also don’t mind renting our several or all of our apartments to the same group of guests for a cozy gathering, but we kindly ask that the apartments are not booked for noisy parties.

Our perhaps most cozy apartment with sea view from both the bedrooms and from the hallway just has this vibe of ”days gone by”, but made new and fresh again. The arches in the ceiling are the original ones from when it was a stable. The lovingly arranged living room is the perfect place to end a day with coffee or a movie before bedtime.

Sport & Spas

Holidays should be fun - and having fun together doesn't have to be expensive.

At Hawbakken Sport & Spas we have gathered more than 20 activities, sports and games - so there's enough fun for a whole day for  75 dkk / 10 € per person. There's something for all ages and you can enjoy yourself indoors in Hawbakken's large barn or outdoors depending on the weather. You are welcome to bring your own food to enjoy. Either inside the barn or outside on our tables/benches and enjoy the area's best views of the North Sea, Lønstrup and Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse.

Hawbakken Sport & Spas is self-service and you must clean up after yourself.

Opening hours
Sport & Spas is open every day of the year from 10:00-21:00.
In snow and very wet weather, the outdoor courts cannot be used. Outdoor tables and benches are only available from Easter to the autumn holidays.

Large groups
You are also welcome to bring an entire school class or a company. For large gatherings, please call in advance for availability.

Minigolf

The mini golf course is often where the visit starts.
It doesn't have waterfalls or models of buildings, but the 12 holes are challenging and fun.

Indoor games

Indoors you can compete in table tennis, air hockey, billiards, darts or table football. Or just relax in one of our old cinema chairs in front of the Playstation with a game of FIFA.

Multi-purpose courts

You can also form teams and challenge other guests in basketball, volleyball, football, street hockey or petanque. We also have hula-hoops, frisbees, kings games and more.

Playhouse

For the little ones there is a cosy playhouse with a grocery store, drawing table, dolls, cars and lots of other toys that will keep the little ones busy.

    My brother-in-law's whole family has been staying in these lovely apartments. An IDEAL way to spend a family holiday together. We have consumed Kostalden. Nothing was missing. We were 4 adults and 2 small children. There was everything for the little ones and us adults. Beautifully decorated with handicrafts from the various workshops in Lønstrup. We visited the local cafés and restaurants. But also ate here and visited the local places that sell vegetables and meat - highly recommended!!!
